Finnish ice hockey team Oulun Kärpät uses LymphaTouch method for physiotherapy |
Ice hockey team Oulun Kärpät from the northern Finland city of Oulu plays in the Finnish hockey league and has recently purchased a LymphaTouch device. The ice hockey team’s physiotherapist was trained to use the device and is now actively using it in multiple ways, to help provide relief from various injuries and to provide therapy for sore muscles after intensive training sessions or games. For professional athletes such as ice hockey players their body is the most important instrument they have, so it is important to take good care of it. The Oulun Kärpät team purchased the device after they heard excellent feedback from other athletes, and because they believe it helps them to reduce the number of days their players spend in rehabilitation. LymphaTouch also provides financial benefits: The team has calculated that each day one player is absent and not able to participate in the games costs the team 500-1000 euros depending on the player. The team's name, Oulun Kärpät, can be translated as "Oulu’s stoats". A stoat is a small furry mammal and is depicted in the team’s logo. |
